Having extracted the #agencylife tweets, it’s pretty obvious that something happens in agencies on a Friday. Throughout the week there’s an increase in the number of tweets but then there’s a massive drop on Friday. Answers on a postcard!
What’s interesting about the recent tragic news that Li Yuan died at work in Ogilvy & Mather China’s offices in Beijing is that it was assumed that overwork was the cause of his death. Of course, there’s no way to know. But it tells us something about what we think of working in advertising.
I’m really interested to get hold of the #AgencyLife tweets. There’s going to be some problems with using it as data but it will be a revealing set of insights into life within advertising agencies. For those who don’t know, it’s a hash tag that allows agency employees to post reflections on agency life.
